About the Journal
Aims and Scope:
The Journal of Gene and Cell Metabolism in Medicine (JGCMM) is an international, peer-reviewed journal committed to advancing our understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying human health and disease. JGCMM offers a comprehensive platform for cutting-edge research, spanning the entire spectrum from gene regulation to cellular and organ function and dysfunction in medicine, with the ultimate goal of expanding understanding and providing solutions to various diseases, including but not limited to cancer, cardiovascular, neurological, immunological, metabolic and hormonal, and aging-related diseases.
Scope
JGCMM welcomes submissions in, but not limited to, the following areas with clear translational implications for human health and diseases:
Gene Regulation and Expression: Mechanisms of transcriptional and post-transcriptional control, alternative splicing, epigenetics, non-coding RNAs, and gene mutations in health and disease.
Biochemistry and Cellular Signaling: Protein synthesis, processing, post-translational modifications, intracellular trafficking, biochemical signaling pathways, and regulatory networks.
Cellular Metabolism: Studies on metabolic pathways, cell bioenergetics, cell-to-cell communication, metabolic reprogramming in disease, and the integration of nutritional supplements with metabolism, gene expression and signaling.
Omics and Systems Biology: Genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and integrative multi-omics approaches to understand cellular function and disease mechanisms.
Pharmacology and Therapeutics: Targeting gene and protein function, drug discovery, pharmacogenomics, and development of novel therapeutic strategies, including nutraceuticals and epigenetic modulators.
Autophagy and Lysosomal Function: The role of autophagy, lysosomal pathways, and protein degradation in cell homeostasis, disease pathogenesis, and therapy.
Cellular Processes: Research on cell death, differentiation, proliferation, motility, secretion, and their dysregulation in pathological conditions.
Translational and Clinical Studies: Application of molecular and cellular findings to diagnostics, prognostics, and treatment of human diseases.
Article Types Accepted:
JGCMM welcomes a wide range of article types, including Original research Articles, Reviews, Technical Notes, Commentaries, Editorials (by invitation), Perspectives, and Letters to the Editor.
Mission:
JGCMM aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and the translation of basic discoveries into clinical advances. The journal encourages submissions from diverse fields such as genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, pharmacology, and nutrition, and welcomes studies employing cutting-edge technologies (including systems medicine and Artificial Intelligence) and integrative approaches.
By providing a broad yet focused forum, JGCMM seeks to bridge the gap between molecular mechanisms and clinical outcomes, supporting innovation in biomedicine and precision medicine.
